What if Technology replaces Service Providers?

Although there is no doubt that technology can be an effective tool in advancing and streamlining the way we acquire services, there can also be a negative side to the advances technology provides. Simple acts like remembering a telephone number or developing a photograph rarely happens nowadays. The important documents that used to sit safely in our filing cabinets now nestle invisibly in USB sticks and computer hard drives. All this is wonderful for space saving, orderliness and ease of document searching however, what happens when the nightmare situation such as a computer crash, computer virus or even the loss of your Tablet, USB or mobile phone occurs? How do we recover all our lost personal memories such as photos and important documents?

It is definitely time to start thinking more objectively and realize that we cannot fully live without the "real elements" of our lives; we should utilize technology to ease our lives, but not erase our footprints. Services can be acquired through technological means however service providers are still needed; their "reality" should never be allowed to become obsolete.

Both technology and service providers go hand in hand and we do need them both to varying degrees. We need to try and balance our needs as we move forward and ensure that we do not put ourselves in a situation where we are left in the dark when our computer lights go out!
